i wish every day was sunday...
i adore sundays. today was lovely. jay and i did some cleaning and got some stuff done around the house, even though it doesn't look like it. (ok, the kitchen does because jason is wonderful but what i did made little visible improvment) i have so much stuff from my parent's house to sort through. i am finding all kinds of fun stuff, which makes it worth it. i just have to figure out what to do with it all. i'm pretty sentimental, so it kills me to get rid of something that reminds me of a time in my life. for me, objects are so important to my memories because i can touch them and see them. so often when i am looking through my old things, i have such strong, sharp rememberences of who i was and people and places that i otherwise wouldn't recall so clearly. these memory pieces somehow help me in processing who i was and what i've become. i'm giving away how terribly sentimental i am in this, but at least i'm owning up to it!
beth came over and we ate chicken and rice soup, which i doctored up with some ginger. we went to regent to see two movies, both very good in completely different ways. in between the two, we got veggie hot dogs and vineger fries from d's. the girl who made are food loaded our dogs up with onions, which we did not ask for, but they were still delicious (after we picked off the onions) this was the first time in ages that i ate a hot dog without getting sick, so thumbs up d's (but no tip for the onion girl!)
after the films, mike, james, and kim came over to our place and we made food-way too spicy blackened chicken, rice, salad, and brownie sundaes (the best part by far!) we watched me and you and everyone we know (review coming soon on our movie page!) and chewed the fat, as my eighth grade science teacher, mr sanders, used to say. a little side note-mr sanders' big claim to fame was that he was an extra in a movie starring susan lucci, the 80's soap star. i think he said his big scene as a security gaurd got cut out and that susan was quite a bitch.
