asia

asia was in summer school for the first few weeks of camp, so she came in late most days. she was very quiet at first but by the last few weeks, she opened up and was quite a character. everytime i turned around, she was falling out of her chair or tripping over someone. she has a fantastic laugh. she liked to play "i declare war" with chalsea.

sadly, i do not have photos of two of my kids. aaron stopped coming in the middle of july. when i was cleaning out his desk earlier this week, i found a journal entry about the rockets:
"today we built rockets. we go back and launch them next thursday. i cannot wait!!!" it made me smile because aaron was also afflicted with the "too cool" syndrome of ten year old boys , and often wouldn't let on if he was enjoying something.
toya stopped coming about two weeks ago. she was a little stubborn but very sweet nonetheless. we had poetry writing one day and she refused to write a poem about birds saying she didn't know anything about birds. i tried to ask her questions about what birds do, what they look like, but she wouldn't write a word. after we were wrapping up our day, she handed me this:

Birds are so colorful
the yellow ones are like the sun
and the blue bird is like the sky
That's my little story.

i love it.

so those are my kids. thank you to anyone who reads this for enduring this lengthy post!
