my little life

the show last night was a lot of fun aside from the horrible service we got from the waiter and bartender. do they want business at cozumel? i will never go there again... but the show was great...the guys sounded really good...it's been a fun month or so of going out and seeing them play and as short lived as it's been, i'm really going to miss it.

i can't believe that this time next week, vin will be gone. i met vin early on in my relationship with jason, i think he came to my graduation party, which was months before jason and i started actually dating. he's a person that i haven't seen change dramatically over the years, but in vin's case, it's not a bad thing. to say vin is pleasant is a terrible understatement; he has always been such an easy person to be around and a welcome addition to any group of friends. my favorite memories of vin are the few times just the two of us hung out. i'm very much a one-on-one person and treasure any time i get to spend with friends alone. we had good conversations and laughed about silly things (we once pulled into a gas station to turn around and the chorus of the song we were listening to was repeating "fill me up, fill me up!" we died of laughter. (we are actually ghosts right now.))

i think what i love the most about vin is his genuine love of music. that may seem like a strange quality to find most endearing about a person, but when i think about vin, that's what comes to mind first and what makes me smile the most. i love that music makes him so happy, that he can play for hours, that he can play any kind of music, listen to most kinds of music and he just loves it. it is a joy to see someone get so much joy out of anything, and even more so when it is something that also brings you much happiness. i don't play an instrument, so i can't appreciate music the way that someone who does put something musical into the world themselves, but i do get a great deal of enjoyment from music and i have enjoyed sharing that with vin. i will miss having pick up any guitar he can find and sing a few songs when we're all hanging out and i will really miss that huge goofy but sincere grin he gets on his face when he is playing music with his friends.

vin, you are a true champ and you will be greatly missed by all of us.

It's really crumby that he's leaving. It hasn't hit me yet.
