i am finally at the end of a very long week... kind of. i do have work this afternoon at the afterschool program and ronald's house tomorrow and sunday, plus a another load of school work for next week, but for the moment i am taking it easy. with love.

the afterschool program has gotten much better and i'm being offered more hours which is nice. the kids are great, but they mostly want to do their own thing so i spend a lot of time tying shoelaces, letting kids in to go to the bathroom and settling small skirmishes. on wednesday a group of first grade boys were palying some complicated war game involving nazis, boats, sneaking in trees and bold statements about if they were in world war I. it was kind of funny and kind of sad. i like that i'm starting to form relationships with some of the kids and that i have the whole year to work with them.

i also have started to get to know some of the guests at the ronald mcdonald house. there is a core group of people that are either there long term, or are repeat guests. it' a nice little community, they really support each other. last weekend i was fed incredible food by a couple who is always cooking. i think i like both of my jobs right now and hopefully it will stay that way.
