me & meatyard

The only comment I got on my most recent photography assignment was "look up Ralph Eugene Meatyard," which is funny because my instructor had already introduced me to Meatyard's work earlier in the semester and I had/have one of his books at home. But Meatyard is weird and wonderful. He was an optometrist who did photography on the weekends and used his optometrist office as a gallery. Here's a couple of his photos:
